get connected to the business, free of charge.

Me and some friends had a great conversation about what makes a billion dollar company and we noted some recent companies that were all Billion dollar companies and all they did was give away free space. First example is delicious it let people have a place to store there text link bookmarks. Then Flickr which allowed people to store there photos freeley. Then YouTube which allows people to store videos freely. Myspace which allowed people to store all sorts of personal information. So all these sites have one thing in common for sure and that is they allow people to store information freely on there server. And my last example but favorite one is Google which stores a snap shot of everything on the internet that it can see, then sells ads on the sides of the information it sorts. All of these companies have another thing in common, they all got rich off others people stuff.

Well since Google and the other search engines do not want companies to sell text links, and with Apollo soon to come out and the mobile internet on the rise I think we will start to see alot of advertisiong companies switching to Flash based or AJAX based ads in order not to upset the search engines and lose the traffic from them. Not to say that other people in companies now and in the future will not sell text links ads but why would you want to upset any of the search engines by selling text link ads if your relying on them to bring you traffic and money. Me and a couple of friends are thinking of putting together a company called Flashtising which would sell Flash ads for high traffic websites at first but then plan to offer lower traffic sites advertising oppurtunities as we progress. The thing that makes Apollo so great is that even if the server is down on our end the ads can keep running on the clients end one thing I had hoped for when Macromedia was around and every once and awhile heard a rumor about it coming out, but when Adobe bought them out I knew it was going to be sometime before it was released so I put plans on the backburner for quite sometime but thanks to the great people over at Adobe it looks like I will be able to start another company. Any web designers out there with Flash skills looking for a job please contact me A.S.A.P I looking to hire four of five designers and you can work from home just need a web camera.

The thing I love most about my blog is when it comes stuff to write about it it is not focused on one thing but rather life itself which is you probably already know is a sequence of random events that unfold over time, no matter how much you try to organize your day stuff happens. I have tryed my best to keep my writings here about stuff I rather enjoy or find faciinating. Which brings me back to this post and that blogs are amazing in that they give a voice or the chance to have your opinon read heard or watched all over the world.Alot fo people tell me they do not know what a blog is or how to set one up or what to write about once they have one and ofcourse all the good names are already taken. Well to me a blog is something your passionate about something you find exciting becasue no one wants to read misery although sometimes they do so whatever your fancy is love drama misery work or just day to day life start writing about it. Trust me all the good name are not taken and iwth so many dot extensions out there you are sure to find one that is perfect for you. But if you want a free blog then headover to WordPress.com or Blogger.com and get you a free one. What I like about owning my own is that I never have to worry about content being taken down this to me is priceless. But the true reason I love to blog is writing about it, whatever the story is, it is only then can you truley understand what you have just read, is to write about it, then you start to see things from all sorts of other angels or get ideas and perspectives about what ever it is your reading about that you would have never had unless you wrote a piece about it.

We need our Governments and Corperations to invest in solar technology, everyday that we do not collect or store energy from the Sun we are losing money and wasting current energy resources.Google has even gone solar but I remeber awhile ago watching a show on PBS in which Alan Alda “yea that Doctor from M.A.S.H. ” in which he was exploring solar power options and inventions around the World on a show dedicated to alternative energy resources and some guy in Germany invented a spray on version of a solar collector that would coat shingles that are put on Homes then the shingles would be solar collectors and unlike glass solar panels of today, that when a part of the glass breaks the whole panel is useless for collecting energy, with these you could drill holes in the shingles or rip it up, cut it, or whatever and the rest of whatever was left would still collect solar energy. With nano techonolgy a coating could be used to spray any thing including recyceled styrofaom and it would collect energy all day I choose styrophoam because it is going to be here on this planet for the next 500 plus years so would make a great collector. A way to collect moon light would be another great idea if it was at all possible. One more thing is everyone in just America went to the bathroom outside once a month and no not a number 2 nobody needs to step in that, it would save nearly 300 million gallons of fresh water each month, and if we all skipped a shower once a month we would save over 10 billion gallons of water each month. and do not get my started on doing laundry equastion unless you want more numbers.

Well it went by so fast I did not notice until one of my readers pointed it out but I have been blogging for over a year now. If you had asked two years ago would I be sharing my thoughts online today i would have laughed at you. But now I feel like my blog is a tool to do good and that makes me feel like I have a voice in the world and in cyberspace. When I first started this blog I had no idea what to even write about other than work or frustrations. I ve had friends talk about posts to me when I see them and sometimes my jaw drops when I see just who was been reading my posts and oh my god the things they say.Have had to deal with my fair share of Spam since putting this blog up probably spent over twenty four consecutive hours deleting spam. Anyways I look forward to another great year of blogging and comments from you the readers, of this horrible trash I spew on the net.

Bret Taylor, Product Manager
GWT developers have been energetic in the past few weeks. A few examples: Ryan Dewsbury created GWT-powered gpokr, a cool multiplayer no-limit Texas Hold’Em implementation with real-time chat. Our favorite office time-waster is Mark Roth ‘s GWT Hang Man. Another developer has also started work on a more ambitious photo-sharing site called myNetImages, built with GWT. Check out the GWT Site blog for a nice collection of links and information.

Some more great info and of course the links work on the Google blog for the things these guys created and some other great stuff made by the communnity further down in the original post which is a must read. I read somewhere that Google lets all its employees have one day a week to work on whatever they want. What a great concept

One of the most common requests we’ve received is for the ability to store a list of personal addresses on Google Maps — and now you can. To get started, click on the “Saved Locations” link in the upper right corner of the site and sign in to your Google Account. If you’re already signed in, this link will take you to your saved locations list — Google Maps will automatically save every location you search for. You can also go to the Saved Locations list to disable auto-saving of locations or to add, modify, or delete previously-saved locations.

An interesting post a must read further if your into Google maps another great way to use Google maps is something I saw on Google video a while back check out this clip here

Accessible Search is a new thing in Google labs that puts websites that are standards friendly to the top of the results. This is very interesting because it seems Google is getting into other Page Rank and that I heard they are also working on a Trust Rank and I wonder if the toolbar will start to reflect other ways Google ranks the site. Having a disabled family member it makes me happy that Google has made a way for her to search for websites that are more friendly to her disablity. Congratulations to Google Team and I hope this makes it out of the Labs real soon. Also if you want to do a side by side search comparing the two seaches click here
