Typed in a keyword in Yahoos search box and I noticed there was a new format, what I was searching for is not important but this new look is because like Google it has allowed for video thumbnails to be played inside the search results which is something I love about one of the new Google search features. In my opinion I think Yahoo needs to upgrade the games part of the website, the spades games could look so much better. I am surprised Google did not patent playing thumbnail videos in its results but anyways I give Yahoos new search a 2 out of 5 because spam still takes most of the top search results and Yahoo needs to spend more time on fixing it results and less time on looks.

Well since Google and the other search engines do not want companies to sell text links, and with Apollo soon to come out and the mobile internet on the rise I think we will start to see alot of advertisiong companies switching to Flash based or AJAX based ads in order not to upset the search engines and lose the traffic from them. Not to say that other people in companies now and in the future will not sell text links ads but why would you want to upset any of the search engines by selling text link ads if your relying on them to bring you traffic and money. Me and a couple of friends are thinking of putting together a company called Flashtising which would sell Flash ads for high traffic websites at first but then plan to offer lower traffic sites advertising oppurtunities as we progress. The thing that makes Apollo so great is that even if the server is down on our end the ads can keep running on the clients end one thing I had hoped for when Macromedia was around and every once and awhile heard a rumor about it coming out, but when Adobe bought them out I knew it was going to be sometime before it was released so I put plans on the backburner for quite sometime but thanks to the great people over at Adobe it looks like I will be able to start another company. Any web designers out there with Flash skills looking for a job please contact me A.S.A.P I looking to hire four of five designers and you can work from home just need a web camera.

The thing I love most about my blog is when it comes stuff to write about it it is not focused on one thing but rather life itself which is you probably already know is a sequence of random events that unfold over time, no matter how much you try to organize your day stuff happens. I have tryed my best to keep my writings here about stuff I rather enjoy or find faciinating. Which brings me back to this post and that blogs are amazing in that they give a voice or the chance to have your opinon read heard or watched all over the world.Alot fo people tell me they do not know what a blog is or how to set one up or what to write about once they have one and ofcourse all the good names are already taken. Well to me a blog is something your passionate about something you find exciting becasue no one wants to read misery although sometimes they do so whatever your fancy is love drama misery work or just day to day life start writing about it. Trust me all the good name are not taken and iwth so many dot extensions out there you are sure to find one that is perfect for you. But if you want a free blog then headover to WordPress.com or Blogger.com and get you a free one. What I like about owning my own is that I never have to worry about content being taken down this to me is priceless. But the true reason I love to blog is writing about it, whatever the story is, it is only then can you truley understand what you have just read, is to write about it, then you start to see things from all sorts of other angels or get ideas and perspectives about what ever it is your reading about that you would have never had unless you wrote a piece about it.

Yahoo Inc. and Six Apart Ltd., creator of Movable Type — the most popular software used to create professional blogs — said on Sunday Yahoo will be the preferred supplier of Movable Type for small businesses.

The partnership is the latest in a string of deals by the world’s largest Internet media company as it seeks to embrace so-called “social media,” the new generation of Web sites that encourage Internet users to share written text, photos and videos.

On Friday, Yahoo acquired Del.icio.us, a site for users to share their favorite Web links. Earlier this year, it acquired Flickr, which offers a way to annotate and share photos.

Yahoo will effectively act as the preferred provider of Movable Type for small business users, taking advantage of its scale and efficiency, Anil Dash, vice president of professional products for San Francisco-based Six Apart, said in a phone interview.

“This is going to be our recommended (sales) channel for small business,” he said.

Sunnyvale, California-based Yahoo said it will offer commercial blogs based on Movable Type as part of its existing small business Web-site management service.

Yahoo provides customers with a unique Web address, blogging tools and business-class e-mail services with spam and virus protections for less than $12 a month.

Movable Type is commonly used by businesses, Web designers and professional bloggers to create easily updated Web sites. Other blog software such as Google Inc.’s Blogger, WordPress, Xanga and Six Apart’s own Live Journal, are more often used to create blogs for individuals.

Yahoo hosts roughly 30 million individual Web sites, including hundreds of thousands of small business sites, said Rich Riley, general manager of Yahoo’s small business unit. One in eight U.S. online stores are hosted by Yahoo, he said.

Yahoo is one of the world’s largest suppliers of hosted Web sites, which refers to Web sites set and maintained for customers by Yahoo for a monthly subscription fee.

Six Apart said it had optimized the underlying software in Movable Type so that it responds twice as fast as the same software offered by Six Apart’s own Web site.

By Eric Auchard
Fri Dec 9, 5:31 PM ET

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Yahoo Inc. (Nasdaq:YHOO – news), the world’s largest Internet media site, had agreed to acquire Del.icio.us, a popular Web site that helps users share links to their favorite Web sites, the site’s founder said on Friday.
Joshua Schachter, the founder of Del.icio.us, confirmed a posting on the New York-based start-up’s site that the company had been acquired by Yahoo. A Yahoo spokeswoman confirmed that the agreement to buy Del.icio.us had closed on Friday.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

“We are joining forces to build my vision of creating a way for people to remember things together,” Schachter told Reuters in a phone interview. “It is a shared memory site.”
Del.icio.us (http://del.icio.us/) provides a simple way for hundreds of thousands of Web users to share and categorize their favorite Web page bookmarks as Web pages.

It is considered one of the leading examples of the “Web 2.0″ phenomenon which refers to a new generation of collaborative sites that has grown up on the Web in recent years and which depend on user-contributed information.

The acquisition of Del.icio.us marks the second major acquisition by Yahoo of a leading “social networking” site. Sunnyvale, California-based Yahoo acquired popular photo sharing site Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/) earlier in 2005.

Del.icio.us has only nine employees. Venture backers include Union Square Capital, Amazon.com and BV Capital, among others. Some 300,000 users have shared more than 10 million of their favorite links to Web sites, Schachter said.

As a sideline to his day job at New York investment bank Morgan Stanley, the Web developer has been responsible for creating two cult crazes on the Internet.

Schachter was co-developer of Memepool (http://www.memepool.com/), a kind of daily diary of links to interesting Web sites that has been running since 1998.

Schachter plans to move to Sunnyvale to join Yahoo’s search products group, the same division where Flickr is based.

“Just like we’ve done with Flickr, we plan to give del.icio.us the resources, support, and room it needs to continue growing the service and community,” Jeremy Zawodny, an engineer in Yahoo’s search group, said on a Yahoo company blog. (http://www.ysearchblog.com/archives/000223.html)

Del.icio.us joins a growing stable of properties where Yahoo seeks to encourage hundreds of millions of its users worldwide to rely on the opinions of others — – their writings, photos, videos and Web links — to search the Web.

The company is working to integrate a range of different user-contribution functions across the Yahoo.com network, from Yahoo news to travel to search
